The
Metropolitan Cathedral of Brasilia, whose fundamental stone
was thrown in 12 of September of 1958, is an expression of the
artistic genius of the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemayer. Had
his ready structure in 1960, when appeared only the circulate
area of 70m of diameter from the which grow its 16 columns of
concrete (pikes of parabolic section), that weigh 90 tons. To
the 31 of May of 1970 the Cathedral was inaugurated, already
